15-year industry veteran and accomplished technologist is seventh recipient of distinguished award

Imagine Communications, empowering the media and entertainment industry through transformative innovation, is honored to announce that Dr. Glodina Connan-Lostanlen, the company’s Chief Marketing Officer and one of the most distinguished technologists and executives in the media & entertainment industry, is the recipient of this year’s Women in Technology Leadership Award, presented by TVNewsCheck, a leading source of business news for the broadcast television industry. The award will be presented at a ceremony on the evening of Tuesday, April 25, at the Las Vegas Convention Center during this year’s NAB exhibition and conference.

“After polling industry technology leaders, TVNewsCheck’s readership and other industry influencers, our editors have decided there could be no better recipient for the 2017 Women in Technology Leadership Award than Imagine’s Connan-Lostanlen,” said Kathy Haley, TVNewsCheck’s co-founder and publisher. “Her numerous technology accomplishments, leadership in helping to guide Imagine Communications’ IP transition strategy and skill at encouraging customers to try new technology have set her apart as a leader not just among women in technology, but women in management, as well.”

During her 15-year tenure with the company, Connan-Lostanlen has held a variety of senior sales, marketing and technology roles, such as leading strategic solution sales, product marketing and business development for IPTV and mobile TV. She also served as key account executive for large broadcast and telecommunications network operators in Europe and North Africa.

“Over the course of her distinguished career, Glodina has made multiple and significant contributions to Imagine and the broadcast industry,” said Imagine Communications CEO Charlie Vogt. “Nearly every business unit and discipline within Imagine, including product development, marketing and sales, has benefited from her technological and business expertise. She is truly one of the top technologists and strategists working in the media & entertainment industry today.”

Promoted to CMO in 2015, Connan-Lostanlen currently leads the company’s global corporate, product, channel and strategic marketing teams. She was an early and influential advocate of the need for media companies to gradually transition their operations to a more agile and versatile technology foundation to accommodate shifting video consumption habits and maintain competitiveness in a rapidly evolving industry.

“I am completely humbled by this tremendous honor and proud to be a representative of the many women who are making contributions every day to the advancement of technology and the future of this incredibly creative and important industry,” said Connan-Lostanlen. “Everyone should be uninhibited from pursuing their passions and I couldn’t think of anything more rewarding than being an inspiration to even one person who hopes to pursue a career in technology.”

Connan-Lostanlen’s academic resume includes a European PhD in Signal Processing and Telecommunications with honors from Rennes University I, France. In addition, Connan-Lostanlen earned a Master of Science in Microwave and Opto-Electronics with distinction from University College London, UK, and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with honors from the National Institute for Applied Sciences of Rennes. She most recently received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management. She was a Bregman Scholar, Dean’s list recipient and graduated with distinction.

Recognizing women who have contributed significantly to advancing their industry technologically, the Women in Technology Leadership Award also raises funds for a critically important National Association of Broadcasters Educational Foundation program that places young engineers who are women or people of color in industry internships.
