Company’s integrated cloud playout solution wins top honors at 13th annual CSI Awards

Imagine Communications, a global leader in video and advertising solutions serving the media and entertainment, multichannel video programming distributors and enterprise markets, has been recognized for innovation in cloud playout by CSI Magazine. Imagine Communications’ Versio solution received the CSI Award for Best/Cloud Virtualization Innovation. The ceremony was held at the RAI in Amsterdam on September 11.

Deployable in a virtualized environment, Versio provides media and entertainment companies with the ability to accelerate the launch of new services, such as specialty and popup channels, ensure business continuity, reduce infrastructure costs and virtualize master control. It is highly adaptable to a wide variety of deployment models, enabling consistent operation across baseband, hybrid IP, and virtualized, cloud-based networks.

CSI Awards judges reviewed a record number of entries in 2015, said Goran Nastic, CSI Magazine editor, adding that this was the first year that Cloud/Virtualization was included as a category.

The latest release of Versio, the company’s market-proven and cloud-capable integrated channel playout solution, provides all functions and features entirely in software. Its component-based architecture enables faster and easier access to new technologies, as well as precise, flexible control of workflows. Imagine Communications recently introduced the Versio MCS, an optional and intuitive touchscreen-based master control surface for Versio installations.

At the recently completed IBC2015 show, Imagine Communications announced that leading Middle East broadcaster Al Rayyan is utilizing a cloud-enabled implementation of Versio, running on commercial-off-the-shelf hardware, to provide business continuity protection.

In April 2015, Disney/ABC Television Group announced the transition of its linear broadcast operations — including global programming playout, delivery and network operations — to a unified IP cloud architecture based on Imagine Communications’ Versio technology.
