Latest release of award-winning Versio integrated playout solution to make Latin American debut

Imagine Communications, a global leader in video and advertising solutions serving the media and entertainment, multichannel video programming distributors and enterprise markets, will be exhibiting its market-leading SDI and next-gen IP solutions portfolio at CAPER2015, one of the largest conferences and exhibitions for media companies and broadcasters in Latin America. CAPER2015, an exhibition of equipment and services for television, radio, cable, satellite and multimedia industry professionals, will be held in Buenos Aires from Oct. 28-30.

Imagine Communications will be showcasing products and solutions from its networking and playout portfolios that enable media companies to obtain new levels of productivity and agility to keep pace with a rapidly evolving industry and to meet the demands of consumers who are increasingly viewing video content on devices other than their televisions.

“The Latin American media and broadcast market is on the verge of significant transformation, as consumers throughout the region increasingly crave content that is viewable on their time schedules and the devices of their choice,” said Nahuel Villegas, regional vice president and managing director, Caribbean and Latin America, Imagine Communications. “We are delivering products and solutions that will enable Latin American media and entertainment companies to capture new audiences and modernize their facilities at a pace they are comfortable with and without stranding current investments.”

Visitors to the Imagine Communications booth (G-40) will have the opportunity to view in-depth demonstration of the company’s innovative and future-proof integrated channel playout technology, which provides media companies with the flexibility to adopt any operational model, from premises-based to cloud-enabled. The software-based solution oversees the production, processing and playout of content for multiple platforms and services, including linear and multiscreen environments.

In addition, the company will showcase its market-leading software-defined network management system, which supports hybrid SDI-IP environments by simultaneously controlling baseband and IP signal routing using familiar SDI interfaces, panels and control surfaces. By adeptly managing hybrid facilities, the Imagine Communications Magellan™ SDN Orchestrator protects baseband investments while providing a clear path to an IP future.

The following solutions and products will be highlighted at CAPER2015:

Cloud & Integrated Playout: Attendees will have access to first-time demonstrations of the most recent release of Imagine Communications’ Versio™ integrated channel playout solution. The 100% software-based solution provides unprecedented deployment flexibility and enables the virtualization of previously hardware-

dependent operations, including master control. Versio delivers new levels of production and playout agility, empowering media companies to rapidly introduce revenue-generating new services and cost-effectively construct business-preserving disaster recovery facilities. The company’s market-leading SelenioNext™ transcoding solutions will also be featured at the exhibition.

Hybrid Routing & Processing: In addition to the Magellan SDN Orchestrator, Imagine Communications will demonstrate its family of market-leading Platinum™ routers and multiviewers, including the recently introduced scaled-down version of the Platinum IP3. The 15RU version of the Platinum is well suited for space-constrained broadcast trucks and other live and sports production applications. Imagine Communications will also demonstrate the ability of the versatile Selenio™ MCP, equipped with UCIP gateway modules, to provide SDI-to-IP on- and off-ramps, as well as UHD up/down conversion capabilities.

Imagine Communications is empowering media companies around the world to gradually and pragmatically transition video operations to IP-based environments running commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware through support of hybrid SDI/IP infrastructures that maintains operational transparency and a smooth on-ramp to an all-IP facility.
