IP-oriented customer engagement honored in Infrastructure and Management category
Imagine Communications, empowering the media and entertainment industry through transformative innovation, received industry recognition at last week’s TVBAwards for outstanding achievement in asset management/systems integration in conjunction with the expansion and full virtualization of Sky Italia’s media routing infrastructure. The TVBAwards, conducted in association with TVTechnology, is an annual showcase of industry success stories, celebrating achievements that push boundaries in content production, management and delivery.
“The TVBAwards was created to recognize achievements such as this,” said James McKeown, content director at NewBay, host of the TVBAwards. “This was one of the most competitive categories, and Imagine Communication and Sky Italia are deserving winners having impressed the judging panel with the scale and effectiveness of this technology installation.”
“Sky Italia and Imagine share the same vision of a graceful and carefully orchestrated transition to next-generation architectures that protects previous investments, ensures the integrity of today’s operations and injects the agility and versatility needed to seize tomorrow’s opportunities,” said Glodina Lostanlen, CMO, Imagine Communications. “We are honored to share this important industry recognition with Sky Italia.”
Imagine Communications has been a long-time advocate of evolving the media and entertainment industry toward a more flexible and powerful technology foundation that leverages IP-based commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment, as well as other advancement of the IT industry, including software-defined networking and virtualization technology. The company’s Delivering the Future of TV, Today strategy is focused on bringing attention to market-proven solutions that are already helping media companies from all regions and all segments of the ecosystem to modernize their infrastructures and operations. A member of the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), Imagine is also a driving force behind the unification of the media and entertainment industry around a common set of standards for moving media over IP networks.
In attendance at the October 20th TVBAwards presentation in London was Massimo Bertolotti, Head of Innovation & Multimedia Distribution at Sky Italia, who accepted the award with Imagine Communications’ Valter Bordignon (left, in above photo).
