Imagine Communications, a market leader of media software and video infrastructure solutions serving the global broadcast, multichannel video programming distributor and enterprise markets, today announced that the company will showcase its end-to-end solutions portfolio at the CAPER Show 2014 taking place Oct. 29-31 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since 1992, the CAPER Show has brought the audiovisual industry together to serve TV broadcasting, HDTV, radio transmission, production and content delivery professionals across Argentina and Latin America.

“Imagine Communications is one of the few companies in the industry with a local presence in Argentina, and this popular exhibition provides a unique opportunity for us to connect with key decision makers across Argentina and the rest of South America,” said Nahuel Villegas, Vice President for Caribbean and Latin America at Imagine Communications. “The media broadcast industry is at a turning point where today’s legacy ‘proprietary premise-based hardware’ technologies are yielding to next generation IP-enabled, software defined and cloud virtualized technologies.

“Visitors to Imagine Communications’ booth will get a first-hand look at how our service-oriented, IP-based and software-defined frameworks fundamentally improve the way media companies monetize their media assets, manage their workflows and prepare for this dynamic future.”

Innovations to be showcased at the CAPER Show from the Imagine Communications end-to-end portfolio include:

TV Everywhere: SelenioFlex™ software-based transcoding and encoding solutions, powered by Zenium, provide flexible live and file-based media processing for applications ranging from production to multiscreen distribution, while the high-density SelenioNext™ adaptive bit rate (ABR) transcoder delivers up to 10 times the space and power efficiency of competing solutions.

Software-Defined Networking: The MultiService SDN™ software-defined networking (SDN) framework simplifies the network architecture of media companies operating in hybrid environments of both baseband and IP workflows by enabling the video bit flow to be software-mapped, creating a fully virtualized network fabric for deploying advanced services.

Software-Defined Workflows: The Zenium™ workflow manager provides an agile software engine that enables broadcasters and MVPDs to design, deploy and manage extensible, customizable, software-defined workflows that can be quickly scaled and adapted to accelerate service velocity and simplify management.

Playout: The latest evolution of the Versio™ integrated playout system will be showcased, featuring expanded I/O, caption, subtitling, graphics and format capabilities. Deployable on-premises or in public and private cloud environments, Versio also supports hybrid SDI and IP workflows as a key component of the MultiService SDN framework. Meanwhile, new enhancements enable the integrated storage of a Nexio AMP® video server to be shared with up to three clients including additional Nexio AMP or Nexio Volt™ servers, editing systems and conforming engines, creating a cost-effective, entry-level shared storage system and efficient production workflows.

Media Management Solutions: The recently announced Landmark™ Express solutions provides a suite of compact, efficient and cost-effective advertising sales, rights and scheduling solutions for small and mid-sized broadcasters. These solutions will be showcased alongside the company’s best-in-class media management portfolio, including Landmark™ Rights & Scheduling, and Analytics.

Signal Processing and Compression: The dual-channel, 1RU Selenio X100™ processor features a unique architecture future-proofed for IP and UltraHD and easily integrates into the signal workflow of any broadcast environment. New modules for the Selenio™ MCP media convergence platform enable high-performance contribution encoding for live events via new JPEG2000 compression support and highly efficient satellite distribution via a dual-channel DVB-S/S2 demodulator. The compact Selenio™ MCP1 will also make its regional debut, bringing the rich capabilities of the MCP platform to a space-saving 1RU form factor.

Automated Content Management and Distribution: New enhancements to Imagine Communications ADCTM allowing it to operate on either generic IT hardware or in a virtualized environment. This strategic update significantly enhances automation scalability by increasing channel densities for reduced hardware footprints, and allows for an easy migration to IP infrastructures and distributed architectures. ADC also features new web based user interfaces that simplify system management.

These regional introductions will be shown alongside additional market-leading solutions including Platinum™; the Selenio X50™ intelligent frame synchronizer/converter; and the Selenio 6800+™ signal processing platform.
