Imagine recently celebrated a major milestone: the shipment of our 4,000th Selenio™ Network Processor (SNP). Since its introduction, the SNP has been deployed by over 280 unique customers worldwide across a wide range of applications. And one thing we hear time and again is that no matter where or what it’s being used for, our multitasking powerhouse “just works.”
But don’t take our word for it. Read on to discover some of the many ways media companies are putting the SNP to work — and we’ll let our customers do most of the talking.
Bridging SDI to IP
The marketplace has spoken: ST 2110 is the standard for most facility builds moving forward. And as its adoption has increased, so too has the demand for reliable gateways that allow media companies to maximize the life of their SDI equipment and cost-effectively transition to IP at their own pace.
The SNP has met this need for many of our customers. And for SDI-heavy applications, we’ve introduced a new addition to the SNP family — the SNP-XL — which allows for more efficient deployments of large-scale ST 2110 systems.
One unique advantage of both units that our customers really appreciate is that after their migration to an all-IP network is complete, their SNPs won’t become obsolete — they can be easily repurposed for other tasks.
“When the day comes that we no longer need the SNPs as gateways at our facility, we’ll simply push a button and put them to use for something else.”

As we move closer to full ST 2110 production, the platform’s unique licensing system and broad range of apps will allow us to reuse the SNP as a multiviewer, a JPEG XS converter, or one of the many other functions available, without having to reinvest in a new hardware platform.”
Elevating video quality with HDR
Today’s audiences have high expectations for video quality. For media companies looking to differentiate their offering and win viewers, delivering HDR content is paramount, making seamless SDR-HDR conversion a high priority.
By working closely with key customers, we’ve fine-tuned the SNP to ensure it sets the standard not only for HDR conversion, but also for the number of other format conversions routinely required in today’s workflows. This has made the processor a go-to solution across the industry.

We set and forget the SNPs: they perform well, take up little rack space, consume less power, and deliver the full variety of HD, UHD, SDR, and HDR outputs we need.”
Powering the fan experience
The shift to IP has revolutionized live sports production. Initially, ST 2110 was embraced primarily for complex live events, and Paris 2024 was the ultimate proving ground — marking the first time the entire core of the production and production network was built on the standard.
But beyond marquee events, ST 2110 is now becoming the technology of choice for applications of various sizes, particularly for retrofit installations in older venues where space is at a premium. And the SNP is at the heart of many of these systems.

“I’m not sure how a production of this scale would have been possible without the SNP. All the units across Paris performed flawlessly and the ST 2110 infrastructure they enabled provided us with a great deal of flexibility in terms of formats and resolutions, while dramatically increasing the efficiency of our workflow.”
Expanding the message
Churches of all sizes are growing their congregations and improving the worship experience by modernizing their technology — and many of them are doing it with Imagine.
Houses of worship are increasingly turning to IP networks and the SNP to connect multi-campus facilities and expand the reach of their message. And for smaller projects aiming to grow later, SNP enables SDI-to-SDI conversions today, with IP capability ready for when the time comes.

Out of the box
In addition to its high performance across a range of applications, the SNP has earned high praise for its out-of-the-box functionality. Our customers have found that it is an easy-to-deploy solution that minimizes the complexity of installation and setup, saving valuable time and resources.

Preparing for the next 4,000
When we initially designed the SNP, it was quite simply the right product at the right time. And thanks to the SNP’s uniquely flexible architecture, it still is. With every new release, the SNP continues to pave the way for the future of broadcast infrastructure.
We are proud of the pioneering technology that underpins our flagship platform, but even prouder that so many customers across the industry have put their trust in SNP to meet their operational and business requirements.
SNP: It just works!
