Principal Solutions Architect, AWS

Thomas is a Principal Media & Entertainment Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services, specializing in broadcast. He previously worked on advanced technology projects for broadcasters PBS, Fox & Disney. He is a board member of the Video Services Forum and the Streaming Video Alliance, a SMPTE Fellow, was awarded the SMPTE Workflow Systems Medal, and received an Innovator statue for contribution to VSF’s Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award for “Standardization of SMPTE ST 2110”.

CTO Networking & Infrastructure, Imagine Communications

John Mailhot has worked in the field of digital high-definition (HD) television systems since its North American inception in 1990. He began as part of the AT&T-Zenith team, responsible for system architecture and integration of the digital spectrum compatible high-definition television (DSC-HDTV) system prototype, and then served as technical lead for the Grand Alliance encoder at Lucent Technologies. He subsequently held engineering manager and general manager roles at Lucent Digital Video, Aastra Digital Video, and the Harris Broadcast Video Networking Group. Today, Mailhot is chief technology officer of the networking and infrastructure team at Imagine Communications. He has dual bachelor’s degrees in computer science and electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and has been recognized as a SMPTE Fellow.

SVP, Playout, Imagine Communications

Andy is the SVP of product for playout, Imagine Communications suite for video server, storage, automation and media workflows for broadcast and OTT channel origination. These solutions leverage cloud computing, on premises systems and the internet to enable linear services that will scale as customer needs evolve.

Before joining Imagine Communications, Andy was director of product management for live linear services – Comcast Technology Solutions’ self-service Channel Delivery, live Linear Processing, Virtual Channel and Linear Rights Metadata management solutions for Content Providers, MVPDs and vMVPDs.

Andy spent 7 years at Harmonic as director of playout solutions for their VOS360 cloud based Channel Origination and Distribution solution and product manager for the Spectrum media server and shared storage solutions. He also served on the board of directors of the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) and chaired the trade association’s marketing working group, which promotes the adoption of media over IP solutions to replace legacy SDI uncompressed video workflows.

He also spent 11 years at Harris Broadcast (now Imagine Communications) where he drove Harris’ channel-in-a-box strategy, video server platform, storage, editing and graphics product lines. He has a wealth of domain experience in the production and playout arena, as well as automation, news production, content creation and infrastructure common to broadcast workflows.

Steve Reynolds is President of Imagine Communications, a global leader in multiscreen video and ad management solutions that broadcasters, networks, video service providers and enterprises around the world rely on to support their mission-critical operations. Steve brings more than 25 years of technology leadership in the cable industry to Imagine Communications.

At Comcast, he served as Senior Vice President of Premises Technology, overseeing the strategy, roadmap and development of all technologies employed in service delivery to the customer premises. Prior to Comcast, Steve was Senior Vice President of Technology at OpenTV Incorporated, a world leader in digital and interactive television technology. His cable industry experience also includes executive positions at ACTV Incorporated and Intellocity USA. Steve was a member of the technical team at TV Guide, leading development of the industry’s first interactive program guide for digital cable set-tops. Steve earned a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Widener University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from West Chester University. Steve is a member of the SCTE and has participated in numerous standards-making bodies in the cable and digital video industries. He holds over two dozen patents relating to digital video, interactive television and digital devices.
