Imagine Builds on a Decade of ST 2110 Leadership at 2026 NAB Show

Showcases New, Open-Standard IP Solutions Across Its Portfolio, From Production to Playout

DENVERImagine Communications is marking a decade of leadership in ST 2110 at the 2026 NAB Show (April 19-22, Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth #N1328) with advances across its portfolio that enable media companies to maximize existing investments, flexibly mix best-in-class SDI and ST 2110 tools, and migrate to full IP at the pace that is right for their business.

Imagine will also take the NAB stage with IP trailblazers IMS Productions and Gravity Media to discuss IP-based mobile production deployments at the NAB Sports Summit; explain ST 2110, MXL, and DMF at the Broadcast Engineering and IT (BEIT) Conference; and deliver expert perspectives in featured sessions at the IP Showcase and the Cisco Theater.

“We’ve been vocal proponents of IP on open standards for more than a decade, and seeing the industry accept ST 2110 as the de facto standard validates the approach we’ve taken from day one,” said Steve Reynolds, CEO of Imagine Communications. “Of course, SDI still plays a vital role — and we fully support it. But the center of gravity for innovation is IP on open standards, and we invest where the industry is going while respecting where each customer is today.”

Making its NAB Show debut,  SNP-XS offers all the capabilities of Imagine’s flagship Selenio™ Network Processor (SNP) platform, including support for 12G SDI and SMPTE ST 2110, in a compact footprint perfect for environments where space is at a premium, but performance can’t be compromised. The new SNP-XS delivers ultra-quiet operation and high-performance processing in a deploy-anywhere form factor, making it an ideal solution for edge deployments, facility expansions, remote routing endpoints, mobile production, and any space-constrained environment. It offers flexible I/O configurations and brings the complement of well-known SNP features on day one — including UHD and HDR conversions and fully synchronized 2110 adaptation.

Also making a first appearance on the NAB stage are Imagine’s new XVR™ playout engines, which are ideal for ingest, playout, and unified origination environments of any scale — especially in SMPTE ST 2110 or cloud-hosted scenarios. Built on modern Linux® and data center technologies, XVR engines enable rapid, repeatable, and secure deployment. They support ST 2110, SDI, TS, and SRT for signal interface and natively play all major industry formats, including XAVC, ProRes, and DNxHD. Flexible pricing, including usage-based subscriptions, help media companies grow channel counts without growing costs. XVR playout engines are also among the first to leverage the Intel Ethernet E810 Network Adapter with Intel Tiber Broadcast Suite components, delivering robust ST 2110 performance on all‑COTS platforms.

Imagine continues to push the boundaries of innovation in IP-based production with advances in its Magellan™ Control System, which is the control platform of choice for modern sports venues, mobile production companies, and broadcasters around the world. Equally compatible with SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, VSF TR-08 JPEG XS, and MPEG-2 TS signals, Magellan Control System provides an intuitive work surface that makes the IP technology underneath feel and act just like a traditional SDI router. At NAB, Imagine will showcase the latest enhancement, Magellan AudioFlex™, which provides mono-channel granularity for audio routing, allowing operators to take any channel from any signal and map it anywhere for seamless audio control even in complex IP workflows. In addition to preserving the control workflows familiar to engineers, this capability enhances live production by enabling fast, last-minute gameday adjustments.

Imagine has been a driving force in the industry’s transition to open-standard IP for over a decade. The company is a founding member of the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), and CEO Steve Reynolds is chairman of the board of the organization that has played a critical role in fostering and promoting open IP standards for the broadcast and pro-AV industries. Imagine’s John Mailhot, senior vice president, product management, has served as editor of the SMPTE ST 2110 standard since 2013 and was awarded the prestigious 2024 David Sarnoff Medal for his exceptional contributions to the development and promotion of the SMPTE ST 2110 standard. The company’s groundbreaking SNP platform is widely viewed as the industry’s most flexible and practical processing device in both IP and SDI workflows, with nearly 6,000 units shipped to date, powering over 180,000 video streams and 3 million audio streams worldwide.

2026 NAB Show attendees can get hands-on demos of Imagine’s full portfolio of IP solutions spanning live production to playout at the company’s new North Hall location, Booth #N1328.
